Then we discuss what they have been told, what I have taught them, what the Bible says about it and (hopefully) give them enough freedom to make their own decisions. I am not opposed to sex being taught in school as this is the only way most kids learn about it (besides actually doing it). To me, the subject of sex is no different than any other information they learn. You can't believe everything you hear or read, even if it's on the internet ;) and this subject matter is no different.Nichole Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16647468681326378753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23776112.post-23136720157664368352015-03-07T15:49:49.510-05:002015-03-07T15:49:49.510-05:00Interesting topic for sure, thanks for this post.Interesting topic for sure, thanks for this post.James Prescotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11822392424328711609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23776112.post-81556767035671820952015-03-03T01:12:16.160-05:002015-03-03T01:12:16.160-05:00Yeah - What Charles said! People are afraid of losing control of what their children learn about sex. The answer is to teach your children all these things before they are presented with the information in school. Quit being lazy or embarrassed. Talk to your children. If I can do it, so can you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23776112.post-2182280386348146002015-03-02T11:30:11.231-05:002015-03-02T11:30:11.231-05:00Thanks, Bob. As a matter of fact, despite what the hysterics would have you believe, the numbers of teen pregnancies as well as abortions have been decreasing pretty steadily. In the province of Quebec, where sex education has been part of the curriculum for the longest, and where schools are no longer divided along religious lines, the abortion rate is the lowest.

I would love to ask those opposed to sex education in schools: what do you think will happen if a young child learns what sex actually is? As one comedian so aptly put it - Take it out of the schools and put it where it belongs - On the streets where I learned it - NOT!! At first I was opposed to sex in school but since many parents won't discuss sex at home and we (my generation) learned most of it on-the-street and trust me, some of it was extremely mind-blowing between "rumors" and "truth" in the end. Most kids find sex as 'gross' at first until they learn masturbation's pleasures. IF a child doesn't learn control and protection early on... need I say more? Look at the number of teen births! Even worse, look at the number of 'discovered' abandoned babies. How many aren't? I'm not a Canadian, but I believe sex ed in schools, when properly done, is a good thing.Author Bob Nailorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09307736243397066884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23776112.post-36487358687825699092015-03-02T11:18:53.675-05:002015-03-02T11:18:53.675-05:00In the US this is a cultural problem as a whole. When our media touts girls gyrating naked on a wrecking ball as ok, that someone does a sex tape and gets to have her own reality show, when across the world women are completely covered because men must control them because of their sexuality, when a teacher has to walk that tightrope of "is a pat on the back ok or will he get fired because he gave a kudos to a female student..." there's so much more than just this. I don't even know where to begin. Elyse Salpeterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09857264377836261431noreply@blogger.com
